Research interests

Systematics, morphological evolution, phylogeny and ecology of gastropod Molluscs inhabiting the East-Mediterranean and Ponto-Caspian Basin. Also broad interests in gastropod paleontology, biodiversity and biogeography. Currently Im especially interested in of some Caenogastropoda, mainly rissoids and hydrobiids using mainly morphological and paleontological approaches

October 2008: International Paleontological Expedition to Kerch region (Crimea) with colleagues from the Natural History Museum Vienna (Austria): Dr. Mathias Harzhauser, Dr. Oleg Mandic, and Prof. Martin Zuschin

June 2007: Joint Expedition to Crimea (Jurassic in the Planerskoe region) with Dr. Steffen Kiel (University of Leeds, UK)

June 2004: Joint Expedition over the Kiev region with Prof. Dwight Taylor (USA)

October 2003: International Paleontological Expedition to Kerch region (Crimea) in the frame of joint Paratethys project with Prof. Klaus Bandel (Hamburg University) and Dr. Steffen Kiel (Berlin University)

May 2002: International Expedition to South Ukraine in the frame of joint project with Dr. Paul M. Bunje (University of California, Berkeley, USA)
