Phylogeny, systematics, nomenclature and ecology of Diptera.

World signal flies (Diptera: Platystomatidae), Palaearctic hoverflies (Diptera: Syrphidae): morphology, taxonomy, faunistics, molecular phylogeny, evolution, insect-host relationships, distribution and zoogeography.

Insects as pests, plant protection.

Insect diversity and nature conservation.
